Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe's iconic dress which she wore in the 1955 film The Seven Year Itch has been sold for $4.6 million (approx Rs. 20 crore Nrs) at an auction.

During a moment in the classic movie, the ivory pleated dress flew up as air rose from a subway grate below, revealing Monroe's legs, in the glory of Technicolour.

Monroe was definitely the star at the auction of Hollywood memorabilia as her costumes were sold at whooping prices.  The actress's red-sequin number from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and her saloon girl costume from River Of No Returnalso fetched $510,000  (approx Rs. 2.2 crore Nrs).
