Breakup Songs

Bin Tere – I Hate Love Stories
Bin tere sung by Shafqat Amanat Ali and Sunidhi Chauhan is one song that will bring back memories of fond times and make you rethink your decision to breakup. The words will stay with you long after the song is over and you are sure to be left dewy eyed thinking about those love filled days.

Tanhai – Dil Chahta Hai
Sonu Nigam has never since sounded this appealing. Tanhai is the anthem of every person going through a breakup. The music, the melody, the voice, the ache of the heart, are all felt too closely when listening to this song. Your breakup is not really lived till you

Tu Jaane Na – Ajab Prem ki Gajab Kahani
This is one of our favourite breakup songs. Kailesh Kher’s piercing and soulful voice, coupled with heartfelt lyrics is what set this song apart. The lover’s agony over not being able to win his love is so apparent in this song that it makes our heart bleed. Listen to this song and mourn over your lost love.

No Air – Chris Brown and Jordin Sparks
“If I should die before I wake
It's cause you took my breath away
Losing you is like living in a world with no air
Oh”

With lyrics like these, we don’t need to explain further why this one is a break up song that can be played on loop.

Ya Rabba – Salaam-E-Ishq
Kailash Kher is the God of poignant and emotional singing and he does full justice to the lyrics penned by Sameer. Ya Rabba is every heartbroken soul best friend. Tears will flow down your cheeks and your heart will be ripped apart with pain on hearing this rendition.

Tadap Tadap – Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam
Everything about this movie is perfect including this song of separation.

"Tadap Tadapke Is Dil Se Aah Nikalti Rahi Hai

Mujhko Saza Di Pyaar Ki Aisa Kya Gunaah Kiya

To Lut Gaye Haan Lut Gaye"

Seriously, can it get anymore sad and heartfelt?

Someone Like You – Adele
She is the queen of heartbreak. Adele’s song is understated, emotional, distressing and is sure to ensure you wallow in your grief till your hear just cannot take it anymore.

Food for Healthy Heart

Apples: An apple a day keeps the doctor away: a very clichéd saying but very true. Phytochemicals, present in apples, act as an anti-inflammatory and also prevent the blood from clotting. It is also high on fibres and vitamins. An apple also makes the perfect snack for someone who is always on the go. Plus it is available in different varieties, so you might not get bored of it soon. Add a few chopped pieces of apple in your Greek salad making it healthier.

Almonds: Have you been avoiding nuts for the oil they contain? If yes, then bring it back to your plate because this oil is actually healthy for your heart. The Vitamin E that almonds contain helps in keeping your cholesterol level under control. Like apples, almonds are also high on fibre and Vitamin content. Again a perfect 5 PM snack. Add to your heart's health by eating 4–5 soaked almonds each morning with your breakfast.

Soy: Soy is not a very tasty option but it's really good for your heart. Soy protein can prevent you from having a stroke. It is also a great replacement for the red meat that you've been trying to cut on. This will help in reducing the intake of saturated fats. Add a few chunks of soy to your rice or stir fry it with your veggies. You can also use soy milk as a substitute for regular milk, for making milk shakes and with your morning cereal.

Berries: Strawberries, cranberries, blueberries, mulberry, huckleberry, gooseberry and all the other berries are a pack load of vitamin C. With so many flavours you can possibly never get bored of eating berries. Apart from vitamin C they also contain calcium and beta-carotene. These fibrous fruits are perfect with breakfast oats or with yogurt. Out of all these berries blueberry has the most nutrients that will keep your heart healthy.

Salmon: Your heart will love you for the fresh salmon you have and so will your taste buds. Fish contains omega-3 fatty acids. This will help your blood from clotting. It is suggested that you should eat fish (sea food) atleast twice a week for a healthy heart. Opt for grilled fish and avoid spicy seasoning. You can also add a dash of lime to it for an excellent flavour and add it to your green salad.

Tomatoes: Tomatoes contain lycopene (a phytochemical) that is known to lower cholesterol, cut risk of colorectal cancer and heart disease. Studies show that men who regularly eat food rich in lycopene have lesser chances of developing prostate cancer and heart disease. You might want to start enjoying tomato sauce as it has more lycopene. Cooked tomato works much better on your body that raw ones. So start adding it to your vegetables and salads.

Green leafy vegetables and olive oil are vital for maintaining a healthy heart. One serving of leafy greens a day can be key to preventing heart disease. So add them in plenty to your daily diet!

Whole Grain: Starting the day with whole-grain cereal may lower the risk of heart failure in the long run, as whole grains protect against coronary heart disease.

Oats: Start your day with a bowl of oats! Oats are full of fibre, omega-3 fatty acids, folate, and potassium, and can help lower cholesterol levels and keep arteries clear.

Brown rice: may be a better choice over white because it has an ingredient that protects against high blood pressure and atherosclerosis. It is also a good source of fibre and helps lower cholesterol levels in the body.

Red Wine: And last, but not the least, ditch your beer and whiskey and say cheers with wine. Antioxidants in red wine called polyphenols may help protect the lining of blood vessels in your heart.

First Date

So this cute guy has asked you out and all you can think of is what to wear for the evening! If that is what you have been thinking all this while, we suggest you move focus to the kind of conversation you’d want to indulge in with your company for the evening. Nevertheless be careful about what you say because you wouldn’t want to give out any wrong signals on your first date. Here are a few questions you should never ask on a first date.

Are you dating anyone else?
While this becomes an important question if you are considering a serious relationship, it is definitely not a first date question. A first date is an opportunity to meet and get to know a person. If you are too curious to know if he is dating someone other than you in the first meeting, then it just goes on to show you are being nosy. These questions are best answered when the two of you reach a certain comfort level.

I am looking for a serious relationship. Are you?
It is totally fine to get serious in life and start looking for that special person to spend the rest of your life with. But it is not a very good idea to ask your date if he is of the same opinion at the very first meeting. If you are looking for a serious relationship or marriage then casual dating is not exactly the right platform to find Mr Right. Sign up on a matrimonial website instead!

So how much money do you make?
Money can be a sensitive topic most of the time, unless the man you are out for the first time with is easygoing and doesn't mind discussing it! Asking your date how much money he makes can be a total turn off as it is likely to scare him off. Come to think of it if you are self-sufficient and independent, then his salary should not make any difference to your life. Why should you be interested in his money anyway?

Are you planning to get married soon?
What if he replied saying “No”?! You wouldn’t walk out of the restaurant, would you? Again, marriage is a serious and tricky question for most of us. It is a lifelong decision that most of us tend to avoid at some point in our lives. But if you are planning to take the first date to another level called ‘marriage’ then you are looking too far ahead. Realise the fact that the first few dates will decide if you both have anything in common or even give a name to your relationship.

I love babies, do you?
Yes babies are cute but did you know asking your date if he likes them too can freak him out? Women usually tend to be emotional about marriage and kids, something men find difficult to relate to. Plus, your date may not be thinking of going out with you again and therefore dropping hints is not going to work either. Sit back and talk about life. Babies can wait!

When are we going out next?
If your date wants to see you again, he will surely call you. More importantly, ask yourself if you are ready to go out on a second date and if so, prepare to say yes or no accordingly. Give yourselves both time and space to decide if the first one was good enough to give it another shot. Don’t expect hurried answers in any case!

So do you like me?
If you like the guy on your first date, be patient and wait for things to happen on their own. But can you expect the same from him? Not really we think. Don’t make a fool of yourself by asking him if he likes you and that too on the first date. Again, if he does, he will tell you or take down your phone number.

Sings you are in Love

Love. We all have been in love at least once in our lives. And we all know that it does something to us.
Our body language changes, we feel happier than usual, the world does not feel like a hell hole anymore, and we find ourselves smiling randomly at odd hours at random people. Love can do wonderful things to you and some of the obvious signs of being in love are listed below.

1. She is ALWAYS on your mind

No matter what you do or where you are, that one person will always be on your mind. It is like they have hijacked your mind space and continue to dominate the area week after week. In the beginning you might take this to be an obsession or even infatuation, but if the dominance persists for a prolonged period, you can be sure you are in love.

2. Ms. Perfect

Ever feel that she cannot do anything wrong? That she is the one person who wouldn’t as much as hurt a fly and is incapable of causing grief and harm to anyone on this planet? Ever find yourself thinking that she is the best blend of talent and beauty, of compassion and passion? If the answers to all the above is yes, you are in love!

3. Your playlist = romantic songs

Our playlist suggests a lot about our personality. It does not simply mirror our taste in music, but it reflects our current state of mind as well. So if your playlist is full of love songs, then it is one major sign of you being in love.

4. You want to spend ALL your time with her

If you are going through a phase of wanting to meet and spend time with only one person, then you are bitten by the love bug. People in love often don’t feel like meeting friends/family. They simply want to spend all their time with the person they love. If you are going through something similar, it does not mean you are some crazy obsessive person, but it means that you want to get to know her better and be around her all the time. So if you find yourself making plans with her and only her every weekend, then you are in love.

5. You’re willing to better yourself for her

For very few people in this world we are willing to change or better ourselves. The obvious entries in this list of people are close family members and a friend or two. If you find a girl (who is not just your best friend) in this list then you know you are in love. If you want to better yourself, be the best human you can possibly be for one girl then you are definitely in love with her.
Are you showing all or a majority of these signs? If yes, you are in love!

Skin Care

POST BEACH VACATION SKINCARE

While you did slather on sunscreen all through the vacation, it is important to take extra care of your skin and hair, on your return. The excessive onslaught of UV rays and the damage it causes makes it imperative to go the extra mile while your skin slowly transitions into regular skin care routine.

Exfoliate: Use a gentle exfoliant on the face, to shed off the build up of skin cells which are damaged, dry and pigmented. Enhance the exfoliation action by using a soft sponge cloth for the face or a buffing cloth for the body whilst in the shower. Donot rub hard, as this can lead to irritation and inflammation.

However if there is redness due to a sunburn, do not exfoliate until the skin has healed.

Calm and rehydrate: Apply a hydrating and calming masque which is thirst quenching on dehydrated skin, three times a weeks. Paper masks when refrigerated before use, help soothe and plump your skin. Keep the skin nourished and hydrated throughout the day and night, with the use of serums and moisturisers.

Repair: On returning from your holiday, immediately begin treating any signs of pigmentation like freckles, sun spots and tan with treatment products which brighten and prevent further discolouration like the Dermalogica ChromaWhite TRX C-12 Concentrate.

Avoid using skin whitening products which contain hydroquinine or kojic acid as ingredients. Furthermore, resist the temptation of bleaching the face and body to de-tan the skin.
