“Jumma Chumma de de” from “Hum” was one such song. To imagine that Laxmikant Pyarelal and Anand Bakshi should come up with such a song must have been a big let down for their loyal fans of the past and to imagine that they did so to compete with Bappi Lahiri is positively cringe worthy. Even Bappi Lahiri plagiarised from the same source and came up with “Tamma Tamma loge”.

It must be said that Laxmikant Pyarelal beat Bappi Lahiri in his own game. Their plagiarised version turned out to be more popular than Bappi Lahiri’s plagiarised version. And this song was hummable and likeable if one did not bother to be righteously indignant in such matters.

Here is this hummable song from Hum. In fact there were people who considered this song a humdinger of a song.

There were many people who thought tht this song has been sung by Amitabh himself. No one, not even his wife could believe when it was pointed out that the song has been sung not by Amitabh , but by Sudesh Bhonsle. Sudesh Bhonsle in fact became Amitabh’s voice and he even dubbed Amitabh’s dailogues in several movies.
