The Most Expensive 'Haute' Dog in the World
This very expensive hot dog will certainly appeal to the Serendipity 3 café’s customers. The café in New York has put together some very exotic ingredients to create the most expensive hot dog in the world. A favourite tourist destination, Serendipity 3 in Manhattan, which was featured in the John Cusack movie of the same name, has added this foot-long $69 hot dog (approx Rs. 3,089), called the ‘Serendipity foot-long hot dog’, to its menu permanently.
This world’s most expensive hot dog is made from a German pretzel bun and is stuffed with pure beef, medallions of duck foie gras and black truffles. The Serendipity hot dog is flavoured with black truffle Dijon mustard, caramelised vidala onions and heirloom tomato ketchup and is toasted in truffle oil. This expensive Serendipity hot dog has also found its way to the Guinness Book of World Records, with its $69 price tag.
The Serendipity hot dog is not the first of the restaurant’s elaborate dishes. Previously, Serendipity 3 created the Frrrozen Haute Chocolate, the world’s most expensive dessert that costs $25,000 (approx Rs. 11 lakh). The dessert was a blend of 28 exotic cocoas from around the world. It also came infused with 5 grams of 23-carat edible gold and was served in a goblet with a lining of edible gold. The dish was completed with a Knipschildt Chocolatier's La Madeline au Truffe, a truffle made from 70 percent Valrhona dark chocolate worth $250 (approx Rs. 11,200) and a gold serving spoon.
